Fashion designing does not involve just fashion sketching. It's a process of conceptualizing your thoughts from some inspiration. It's a process to make good fashion illustrations focusing on some rules. I will guide you step by step about fashion designing tricks and techniques:
Making Illustrations:
Nine (9) head Figure
Firstly, you make Nine (9) head figures to practice containing the head, neck, and other body portions. It will help you understand better how to draw a model figure by making divisions. Nine (9) head figures based on 9 inches. One (1) head equals 1 inch.
Eleven (11) head Figure
Eleven (11) head figure is 2 inches taller than nine (9) head figure. It is the most widely used figure for sketching fashion Illustrations.
Source of Inspiration:
Start by selecting a theme that inspires you that might be nature, building architecture, civilizations, culture, abstract concepts, different art, the fusion of design elements (line, shape, circle), and anything that comes into your mind as a source of inspiration.
Research:
Gather information about your selected theme, its pictures, articles, and informative material because you must have enough knowledge about that theme or inspiration prior to working on it.
Research Board:
Gather images related to your theme, specifying cuts and curves, and organize them aesthetically to make a research board. For example, if your theme focuses on a particular civilization, consider incorporating images of architecture and art of this civilization.
Mood Board:
The mood board depicts the story of your specific collection. The mood board conveys the feeling and concept of your brand and collection. The mood board contains material swatches, images, colors, textures, and trims.
Color Board:
Make the color board by the composition of cuts and curves included in the theme. The object is colored using hues related to this theme.
